Triggered Pelvic Floor Therapy & Fertility on Instagram: "I’ve debated on posting this but I think this will do more good than harm to inform folks that the only people that are truly Pelvic floor therapists are those with either Doctoral or Masters education in Physical therapy or Occupational therapy who are LICENSED therapists with specialty training in pelvic floor therapy. There is so much misinformation out there and as a PFPT that’s in office seeing patients, I can tell you that social media is a double edge sword— in the same place we are truly educating folks, we are also seeing a great amount of individuals with good branding but no real experience or credentials. PFTs provide a combination of internal manual assessment and treatment, manual therapy, neuromuscular reeducation, self care/education and therapeutic exercise. We are REHAB specialists for the pelvic floor and beyond. Let me clear, there are some amazing Postpartum coaches who are not claiming to be pelvic floor therapists, but unfortunately there are so many out there who go beyond the scope of what they know and are misinforming people.
