For the past 28 days, I've been exposed to horrifying scenes that have been breaking my heart. These images of babies being killed, injured, or displaced are particularly distressing. In one instance, I observed an apartment being bombed, and a woman, a little boy, and a teenager had to be rushed to the hospital.While attempting to report on what I witnessed, my heart raced, and my voice trembled. I felt that my reporting fell short of what I wanted it to be. My heart seems both fragile and resilient at the same time.Though you might perceive me as a courageous female journalist, at my core, I'm just a young girl yearning for her father's comforting embrace throughout the day. In my mind, the camera capturing me is my father, and I visualize his loving face and eyes while I report. My father passed away in 2012, marking my first encounter with loss.
