Today, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the âbig, beautiful bill,â a tax and spending package that cut nearly $1 trillion in Medicaid funding. Once fully implemented, the bill will result in 78,275 Nebraskans losing health coverage and a cut of $3.6 billion in funding to Nebraska hospitals over 10 years. âPoliticians in Washington crafted this package so the cuts do not start taking effect until they get re-elected next November,â said Nordquist. âNebraskans need to be aware that the day is coming when more than 70,000 citizens will lose Medicaid coverage, rural hospitals will be forced to eliminate service and some will close, and individuals and small businesses with commercial insurance will be forced to pay higher premiums to close the funding gap in our health care system.âRead the full NHA Statement: https://loom.ly/YdtJNCs | Nebraska Hospital Association | Zootzle
