Anna Gutu on Instagram: "Savage Mountain… K2, although about 200 meters lower than Mount Everest, is considered one of the world's most dangerous and challenging mountains. Its treacherous slopes, rock fall, extremely difficult topography, and poor weather conditions make K2 one of the most difficult 8000er to conquer. K2 used to be known as having a sort of curse for women climbers. Prior to 2004, 5 of the women who summited K2 passed away either while on the mountain or shortly after their descent. Their deaths gave life to the K2 curse, where people believed that the mountain had a vendetta against female climbers. Up until 2022, fewer than 20 women summited K2. I am happy to see that in the recent years this curse is being broken by many female climbers. In 2022 history was made, 26 female climbers stood on top of this beast. Many of these brave women I have met in person, and became friends with @atalthani @tonya.samoilova @gracetseng_0821 @kristin.harila @adri.brownlee @mariepier.desharnais @etroguet @popuplens @naila._.kiani Too many of us are not living our dreams because we are living our fears. I am not saying we should be totally fearless, but we shouldn’t let fear stop us. Take a chance and you may lose. Take not, you lost already for not even trying…. #mountaineering #eliteexped #instagood #instadaily #keeppushing #neverstopexploring #reachyourgoals #pakistan #mountaintop #himalayas #photoeveryday #nature #dontstop #mountains #mountainclimbing #mountainclimbers #summit #womenwhoclimb #strongwomen #k2mountain #womenk2 #k2summit #karakoram #mountaintop #8000ers #14peaks" | Zootzle
